Adaptive constructive support in teacher-child dyads in inclusive lessons

About the project:
The quality of teaching is crucial for the personal development and learning success of learners. Teaching quality is reflected in the three basic dimensions of classroom management, constructive support and cognitive activation. In a research context, teaching quality is usually assessed on a class-wide basis using questionnaires or lesson observations.
The project "Adaptive constructive support in inclusive teaching" works with video and questionnaire data from the Ada*Q project by analysing the school practice of schools that have been awarded the German School Award for particularly adaptive, high-quality and innovative teaching concepts.
The project on adaptive constructive support examines the support behaviour of teachers in teacher-child dyads. The aim is to determine whether the teacher adapts their support to the individual needs of the pupils. This addresses the teaching quality dimension of constructive support, which was recorded for the first time in video observations in the interaction between the teacher and the individual pupils. Innovative video analysis methods are developed and used.
