Welcome to the Department of School Intervention Research for Special Educational Needs
The research area School Intervention Research for Special Educational Needs (ShIpB) underpins the multi-perspective orientation of the Institute of Educational Research - research and teaching are located at the interface of educational-psychological and special educational subject areas.
Research and teaching in the department focus on the topics of teaching quality and individual support. It takes a closer look at the significance of teaching quality for learning at school, how certain support methods and teaching quality are connected and how pupils can be supported individually depending on their respective learning requirements. In this context, questions regarding the professionalization of teachers are also included and consequences for the practical implementation of the findings in the classroom are derived.
The methodological focus is on the design, implementation and evaluation of intervention and longitudinal studies in the school context. In order to record and understand the implementation and effects of teaching and learning arrangements in more detail, we also use video recordings of lessons and interviews with teachers.
