Weekly plans in the classroom (WPPlus)
Principal investigators:
Dr. Svenja Rieser
About the project:
Since the pandemic-related school closures at the latest, but even before, work with weekly plans or work plans has found its way into many schools in Germany. Based on the literature on this topic, a variety of (learning) goals can be pursued by working with weekly/work plans, for instance, the support of students’ self-regulated learning. The recommendations for their practical implementation are just as diverse as their potential goals. However, how weekly plans or work plans are actually used in the classroom and what goals teachers pursue with them is still largely unknown.
This is where the project "Weekly plans in the classroom" comes in. In a Germany-wide online survey, teachers from all schools were asked for information on the use of weekly plans or work plans in the classroom. We were interested in the experiences of teachers who use these plans as well as those who do not (yet) or no longer do so.
Our aim was a more comprehensive understanding of the use of weekly plans or work plans in Germany and to find out the teachers’ reasons for and against their use.
