Student research projects

Student research project

We are delighted that you are interested in writing a student research paper in our School Intervention Research for Special Educational Needs (ShIpB) working group.

We only accept theses with topics from projects in our research area.
Therefore, please inform yourself first on our website about the currently offered research topics (see box on the right "Current calls", the calls are always updated at the beginning of each quarter).

We prioritise empirical work. Therefore, please consider carefully whether you would like to write an empirical thesis.
A good guide to the requirements of empirical work can be found in Peters, J. H. & Dörfler, T. (2019). Theses in psychology and the social sciences. Planning, conducting and analysing. Hallbergmoos: Pearson. Especially chapters 3 and 6 to 8 (freely available on the intranet of the Wuppertal University Library).

In addition, you should be able to research and analyse empirical articles in German and English. The University Library regularly offers free literature research courses at https://www.bib.uni-wuppertal.de/de/lernen/kurse/

The student research project can be completed within one semester.

You can only write your research project with us if you also take part in our "Accompanying seminar to the research project (AG Decristan)".
In the research project, you will work on a question from our projects specified by the department, which will be presented at the beginning of the accompanying seminar (see 1st variant of possible formats https://www.ifb.uni-wuppertal.de/de/studium-1/master-of-education-med-11/grundschule/bil-5-forschungsprojekt/)

Therefore, please register first in studiloewe for the course "Begleitleitseminar zum Forschungsprojekt (AG Decristan)" and check whether you have been admitted to the accompanying seminar!
In the description of the course in studiloewe you will also find detailed information about the accompanying seminar.

It is not possible to participate in the accompanying seminar without a research project in our field of work
