How can I promote language? Tips for learning support

A good understanding of language enables people to participate in education, work and society. When working with children and young people, it is therefore important for everyone involved to promote language development as far as possible.

Do you still need ideas on how you can promote language development? Perhaps you already have ideas that you are implementing in your work, but are not sure how helpful they are?

One Square Kilometre of Education and the two scientists Dr Valentina Reitenbach and Dr Anna Nishen have therefore worked together for two years as part of the EQUAL-NET project to find a low-threshold and scientifically plausible solution. The joint work resulted in cards with tips for language promotion. All the tips are so easy to implement that you can use them in your everyday situations.

You can download the cards here. Have fun leafing through them and trying them out!

Do you have any other ideas or experiences of your own that work well for learning support?

We have created a template that you can use to enter your own ideas and experiences. Your tips can be about language support, but also about other topics. For example, you can write down and share how you motivate your learners.

You can download the template as PowerPoint slides here.
